Contract Pressing and Bottling
Contract pressing is an inexpensive way of testing the demand for cold pressed Extra Virgin Rapeseed oil before committing to the large expense of purchase equipment and spending on other set-up costs.
Alternatively, if you are only likely to sell smaller quantities, for example if you have a farm shop or a stall at one or two farmers markets then intermittent contract pressing may make more economic sense than capital investment in your own equipment.
We currently operate 'State of the Art' cold screw press expellers, Rapeseed oil is extracted without the use of chemicals or solvents, at an average temperatures of 37°C. The expelled oil is stored in stainless steel containers and then passed through a low pressure plate filter which extracts all the sediments down to five microns. This also has the effect of polishing the oil to give it a crystal clear shiny appearance. This oil is then taken to our purpose built oil store, ready for, drumming or bottling.
in 2009 we invested in a new state-of-the-art bottling plant opened by HRH the Duke of Gloucester, which enables us to fill, label (with batch & date stamp) and cap up to 1500 bottles per hour. A variety of bottle size and types can be filled, including 100ml,, 250ml and 500ml in glass. We can also fill the oil into food grade plastic 'jerry cans' of 5 litre or 20 litre etc for the catering market, restaurants, hotels, etc
We can press your seed and return the oil to you in a glass bottle - For example: 1 ton of rapeseed would give you about 600 to 650 half litre bottles of wonderful clear golden cold pressed extra virgin oil with a metal tamper proof screw top and oil pourer. British cold pressed rapeseed oil is earning a reputation for being far better that olive oil both for its health properties and its taste. This is a growing market with cold pressed rapeseed oil now beginning to nudge olive oil off the supermarket and deli shelves. This service is a great way to test the market
We have full HACCP procedures in place and have been approved by environmental health, trading standards and have salsa accreditation
If you wish to have the labels applied to your bottles, this can also be accommodated using our equipment.
